Martine Ordon
Martine graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2008 and was called to the bar of Ontario in 2009. She articled and was an associate at a mid-size Bay Street firm where she practiced civil and commercial litigation with an emphasis on employment and bankruptcy law. Prior to forming Ordon Law, Martine was an associate at Stikeman Elliott LLP, one of Canada’s leading business law firms. In her role there she supported the securities practice group in areas related to dealer, adviser and investment fund manager compliance and registration matters. Martine completed her LLM (Securities) in 2013 at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Prior to entering law school, Martine specialized in financial services where she was the acting managing director, and president of the Canadian brokerage operation of a leading US based bank and trust company. Prior to holding that position, Martine was instrumental in building the institutional sales and trading division of a leading independent brokerage firm where she became partner. The firm was one of the most innovative institutional boutiques in Canada and was the first to advocate and offer unbundled commission costs to institutional clients. It was also a leader in offering direct electronic trading access to Canadian marketplaces through its own proprietary system. The firm was subsequently acquired by one of Canada’s leading financial institutions.
